You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy rose, and that’s close enough.
Posted 2021-08-26 11:34:38Rose Wine is one of the biggest recent success stories and its popularity is showing no sign of slowing down, whether it’s popping a bottle of pink fizz in the summer or sipping on a glass as a aperitif, this style of wine is as trendy as ever.
So what is Rose wine?
Red grapes produce clear juice, so you can make any colour wine with them. It's the length of time that the juice is left to hang out with the dark skins that determines whether it'll be white, pink, or red, so it’s the skins that gives wine the colour.
Rose, Rosato, Rosado, Rosewien ,No matter how you say it, either in French, Italian, Spanish or German, respectively, there’s no denying the appeal of this cheery wine style and even more so with the warmer weather closing in, as with all trends brands start to merge, with the likes of Miraval rose, is having Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt behind the product subconsciously affecting our product choice, or the mighty Whispering Angel an entry level product from there vineyard with a easy to remember French winery name choosing for us? And all these wines coming in at £20, are they really worth that?
Personally for me I would rather choose a top end wine in a vineyards portfolio from a small unknown Provence house.
