Rinomata Cantina Tombacco Rosso D.O.C. Sicilia Organic 2016 is a beautifully textured red wine from Sicily, crafted with organic care. Blending Cabernet Franc and Syrah/Shiraz, it delivers a confident, aromatic profile that feels both alluring and refined. Expect a welcoming mix of sweet spice, cocoa-like depth and subtle tobacco character, lifted by cool minty notes. Alongside, faint vegetal tones with myrtle and juniper berry create a fresh, Mediterranean edge that keeps every sip interesting.

On the palate, the wine balances warmth and elegance with hints of pepper and lightly graphite-tinged nuances, finishing with satisfying length. This is the kind of bottle that elevates everyday meals—whether paired with grilled meats, roasted vegetables or a hearty pasta. If you’re exploring the organic reds of Sicily, this Tombacco expression is an excellent choice from a range that consistently aims for character, freshness and distinctive style.

Italy

The ancient Greeks called Italy "Oenotria" meaning wine land and its inhabitants are today as passionate about their wines as ever. Hand in hand with this passion goes an intense commitment to local styles and local grape varietes, of which there are said to be more than 500. Yes 500 different varieties! As a result, Italy produces a wider, more fascinating range of individual, characterful wines than anywhere else in the world. And over the last two decades in particular, Italy's very finest wines have improved out of sight and their star is still on the rise. If anyone is going to truly challenge the famous names of France for supremacy in the battle for the hearts and minds of wine collectors the world over, it's the Italians. Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone look out. Here comes Tuscany, Piedmont and Puglia!

Sicily

Blessed with consistently bright sunshine and reliably moderate rainfall, Sicily's classic Mediterranean climate is ideally suited to the production of wine grapes. The warm, dry climate means that mildews and rots are kept to a minimum, particularly in well-ventilated areas which benefit from coastal breezes. This low disease pressure means that chemical sprays are hardly needed, so much Sicilian wine is produced from organic grapes.
