Les Decouvertes Pays d'Oc Cabernet Sauvignon £11.50
Les Découvertes Pays d’Oc Cabernet Sauvignon brings classic Languedoc Roussillon character to the glass. Hailing from France’s Pays d’Oc, this red wine is made for relaxed evenings and confident dining, with a rich garnet appearance that hints at what’s to come. Expect inviting aromas of peppery notes, green olive lift, and ripe blackcurrant, creating a vibrant opening that feels both bold and refreshingly composed.
On the palate, the flavours lean into that Cabernet Sauvignon signature: pepper and spice sit alongside dark fruit, offering a satisfying, warming complexity without overwhelming the senses. Smooth, well-balanced and made to pair easily, it’s ideal with grilled meats, hearty casseroles, or simply enjoyed with friends when you want something full of personality. Choose from the Les Découvertes range for an effortless way to explore French red styles—this one is a standout for everyday enjoyment.

France
Few would argue that France is the country that long ago set the standards by which wine is judged. There are of course exceptions; Germany's Rieslings, Spain's Sherry and Portugal's Port are examples of non-French wines that are universally accepted as models to be admired and emulated. But no other country in the world can boast anything like France's influence over the wine world's now well-established benchmarks. The wine styles produced in Champagne, Alsace, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire and the Rhone have become targets that countless winegrowers around the world aim at, in the first instance by planting the same grape varieties. If you still have a bit of exploring to do before you can say you know well the world of wine, there can be no better place to start (or finish!) than France.
Languedoc Roussillon
Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France stretches from the Rhône valley in the east to the Spanish border in the southwest.
It is dominated by 300,000 hectares of vineyards, making it France’s largest wine producing region.
Common red varieties include Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre.
Common white varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Piquepoul, Marsanne and Roussanne.
